APO LEADS Program: SERVE

I went to SERVE this past weekend in Philadelphia. I was amazed at all the amazing skills I learned for project management, like how I could delegate better and communicate with others on the project. I already put these skills to use for project planning, and I even created a Gantt chart!

The SERVE experience is more than worthwhile. You will have a wonderful time, meet amazing people, and learn valuable skills that will help you before you expect them.

I fully endorse this program!

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

This was one of the most amazing APO experiences I'll ever have!

SERVE was an adventure. The level of personal development was immeasurable. I know that the skills I took away from it are relevant not just in what I do for APO, but in my professional life as well. I feel as though I am a much more confident leader because of what I learned.

I also met a wonderful group of brothers that taught me a thing or two as well. It was inspiring to work with them in the projects and activities throughout the weekend. The friendships built will last a lifetime.

I urge every brother to take this course. It was outstanding!!

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

SERVE is the most useful of all of the APO LEADS courses. The skills and information that you learn can be used in real life as well as within the chapter. I recommend that everyone take this course as soon as possible!

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

Thanks to the strategies and techniques provided in the SERVE course, the act of planning a project revealed itself to be much simpler than I ever thought possible. Chaos gave way to simplicity after implementing what I learned in this valuable course.

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

SERVE applies project management and planning to chapter improvement and member development. It has inspired both current officers and future leaders in Tau Lambda as well as given us tools and ideas to help guide our chapter. I expect to see many significant changes in Tau Lambda in the next few quarters as a result of what we have gained from SERVE as we adjust to a rapidly increasing campus interest in Alpha Phi Omega at Rose-Hulman.

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

Before SERVE I was hesitant to ever take an official leadership position in my chapter because I felt that I would not have the time or the skills to work on planning and carrying out a chapter event. Since going through the SERVE program, I see that planning and budgeting is easier than I had orginally thought, so I am now more willing to take on a leadership position in my chapter.

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

I attended SERVE this past summer in St. Louis. Of all the APO LEADS courses, I feel that SERVE was the most useful. Not only were there many presenters there to constantly give different perspectives, but the groupwork helps bring home all of the points learned in presentation.

I am currently planning the 53/55 Bi-Sectional Conference, and cannot even describe how valuable all of the skills that I learned in SERVE have been.

APO LEADS Program: DISCOVER

Discover has been the best APO LEADS course I have taken to date. I learned so much about myself and my personality, and I have been able to apply it to my professional life, and effectively use it as well. Since I've taken Discover, I've become more confident about the type of person I am, and how useful my personality type is to both my family, my friends, and my job.

Just got back from serve late last night and I'm still beaming! It was one of the best weekends I have had with APO and I learned more then I ever imagined I would. Just being there and making friendships that will last and having fun. It was worth the time and the flight I paid for and I would do it again if I could! If you haven't taken serve do it because it is something you don't want to miss!

APO LEADS Program: SERVE

I agree that SERVE was a great experience and time. Working on the project was the most daunting. In group work I usually worry that I'm doing everything or nothing. In this case, I thought I didn't contribute much, but that is contrary to the opinions expressed by Brothers in my group. Whoever told my sister at the 56/59 conference this spring about SERVE was right: it’s the most challenging/intense APO LEADS course but the most rewarding one!

It was definitely a lot of fun, especially meeting all the other Brothers. To the sleep comment, I'll add that I wasn't as tired as I expected (I got about 7 hours a night and need 8), but I think stretching the SERVE out (National Convention, regional conference, maybe, but then there's so much more going on at those places to do, even without being a voting delegate [I've been both a voting & nonvoting delegate- '02 & '04, respectively].

Application of leadership training has always been an issue for me, having low intuition and leadership issues.

I'm glad I finished APO LEADS - December 29, 2003 to June 5, 2005 (being a super senior allowed me to get SERVE before I graduate)
