LAUNCH: Launching your Leadership Development
Course Length: 3 Hours

Maximum Number of Participants: 30
LAUNCH is a leadership course that is the launching point in your personal odyssey of leadership development and sets the basis for the four component modules to follow. Therefore, this module is a prerequisite for each of the other four components of the APO LEADS program.
Objectives:
- Increase the participants' knowledge of leadership skills and principles.
- Understand and utilize the principles of Servant Leadership and understand how it applies to Alpha Phi Omega.
- Provide active strategies that participants can use in their chapter.
- Increase participants' awareness of leadership opportunities in Alpha Phi Omega.
Content Sections:
- What is Leadership and what is the difference between leadership and management skills?
- What are the characteristics of a good leader?
- How do we provide leadership through the Servant Leader[1] and Servant Chapter[2] models.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Dealing with, and adapting to change.
- Goal setting using the SMARTER method.
- Servant Leadership is copyrighted by the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership.
- The Servant Chapter Model is adapted from Jim Laub's copyrighted Servant Organization Model.
