National Leadership Development Program
The National Leadership Development Program of Alpha Phi Omega
incorporates a series of courses, libraries, and programs that are
there for our members to further educate themselves on how to
become a better leader, and how to better serve the Fraternity. The
program is administered by the National Leadership
Development Committee, under the guidance of the National
Leadership Program Director, Ed
Richter, who sits on the National Board of Directors.
The various programs of Leadership Development include:
- APO LEADS: A
modular program consisting of five individual courses covering
various aspects of leadership development. Each of these modular
components focus on skills that will help the participant be a
successful leader and team member in Alpha Phi Omega and in life.
At the completion of the series of courses, the participant will
have a set of transferable skills that are applicable to Alpha Phi
Omega, to the working world, as well as to leadership in other
organizations.
-
Leadership Resources Clearinghouse: This program is
essentially a leadership library, and is intended to provide an
archive for workshop materials from various Alpha Phi Omega
conferences, specifically lecture notes, slides, handouts, and
other documents that can be used by our members. Documents are
submitted regularly by individual alumni volunteers, and provide a
wide variety of interesting information on many topics.
- APO
IMPACT: The APO IMPACT program is a
set of guides that provide a, "how to," for the usual duties of the
most common chapter offices. If you don't see a booklet
titled with your office, look through the ones that are there. The
information you are seeking may still be covered. For
example, the President's book covers how to run an effective
meeting. Any officer that chairs a committee needs that skill. To
complement this, APO IMPACT
LIVE is a series of courses for conferences and live webinar
sessions. These courses will reinforce the knowledge found in the
IMPACT officer manuals.
- Chapter
Program Planning Conference (CPPC) Guide(PDF):
Every chapter runs a series of programs service program, pledge
program, history program, etc. You think your chapter is
doing a good job with each but how do you know for sure? How
good you make it even better. The CPPC provides a means for a
chapter to review and evaluate its program, then modify and set
goals for the same programs for the next year or semester.
Completing the CPPC is also a great way to gather the information
needed for the
Annual Chapter Evaluation and H. Roe Bartle Award that must be
submitted yearly by Nov 15.
