Worked for Rotary International in Evanston, Illinois, until he retired in 1973.

Fraternity

Served as the first National Executive Secretary for 27 years (1932-1960). Founding member of Pi Chapter, Kansas State University in Manhattan in 1930. Sid, as he was affectionately known to brothers coast to coast, was a Life Member.

Awards

Awarded the National Distinguished Service Key (1962). Fall 1970 Pledge Class Namesake Honoree.

Community

A recognized leader and pioneer in youth service to crippled children. For over 25 years, he was a Scoutmaster of a troop for handicapped boys in Kansas City, Missouri-one of the first of its kind in the United States. He was a veteran of over 50 years in the Boy Scouts of America program. The Scouting movement conferred upon him the Silver Beaver Award in 1942 and in 1969, the regional Silver Antelope Award. He was a member of the National Committee of the Order of the Arrow for more than 15 years.

Personal

Died in January 1989.
