Fraternity

The 1954 National Convention elected M. R. Disborough as National President. Brother Disborough, who became affiliated with Alpha Phi Omega in 1936 as a charter member of Alpha Tau Chapter at Butler University, was the first undergraduate Brother to rise through the ranks to the Presidency. Under his administration, a special emphasis was placed on the selection and appointment of Sectional Chairmen, a plan of organization which continues to operate today in the 50 Alpha Phi Omega sections throughout the United States.
