Fraternity

Known as Shorty, became affiliated with Alpha Phi Omega in Alpha Rho Chapter at the University of Texas in 1938. As Dean of Student Life at the University, he took great interest in the Fraternity and was elected National President by the 1946 National Convention. He named state chairmen to expand Alpha Phi Omega and sold more deans on the values and usefulness of the Fraternity. During his presidency, the number of chapters doubled from 109 to 227 and membership grew rapidly.

Awarded the national DSK (1958). Named fall pledge class namesake (1952,1963).
