<p">Is there a special youth-based service project your
chapter would love to do, however there isn't enough funding to make happen?
That's the perfect Youth Service Grant project! The Youth Service Grant is a
chance to identify a need in your community, and then develop/conduct a service
project that meets that need and benefits local youth. The grant money helps
your chapter cover the cost of things you need to successfully perform the
project. Applications for this grant are due February 1, so make sure your
chapter gets to work on this application as soon as you return from winter
break!

Membership Retention Plan

The Membership Retention Program is a tool designed to take
chapters step-by-step through the process of creating a retention plan.
Retention, as opposed to recruitment, is about asking “How do we keep the members
we already have?” Using the Membership Retention Program, chapters have the
opportunity to assess their retention issues, diagnose those issues, make a
plan to overcome their retention obstacles, implement their ideas, and evaluate
the effectiveness of the changes they made.
<p">

The completion of the Membership Retention Program should
result in a solid plan the chapter can revisit and revise as frequently as they
need to. Much like CAPS, planning for retention is cyclical. Like many aspects
of chapter operations, retention is constantly changing; therefore, the
chapter’s retention plan must also change.

<p">In addition to the step-by-step guide to creating a
retention plan, the Membership Retention Program also educates chapters about
how to calculate their retention and provides specific ideas for keeping
members engaged and involved with the chapter. To access this new
program click here. </p"></p">

Become a Presenter for APO

The Leadership Development Committee has developed a tool to
collect information on Brothers who might be interested in becoming
new presenters for APO LEADS, APO IMPACT, and other workshops.

We are also looking for individuals interested in helping to train
and develop new presenters for various leadership development
programs.

Please send the link below to appropriate regional and sectional
staff and other Brothers (alumni and rising alumni) to fill out to
either indicate new interest or to re-new their current commitment,
as we would like to confirm that current presenters are still
willing and able to present in those areas where they may have
previously been certified.

In
addition to his impressive resume of achievement in Alpha Phi Omega, what set
Brother Zlatkovich apart was what he accomplished and the profound impact he
had on so many other brothers through his service, said APO Vice President and Chair of the Fall Pledge Class
Namesake Nomination Committee, John Ottenad, Alpha Phi '89. His commitment to diversity in the Fraternity, his diligent, creative and
untiring efforts to help lead the Fraternity out of difficult financial times,
and his willingness to travel far and wide, mostly by car, on behalf of
the Fraternity inspired a whole generation of leaders who have shaped our
Fraternity for over 30 years.

Congratulations Brother!
