CO-ED SERVICE FRATERNITY TO HOST
SWEETHEARTS BALL AT PARKER NURSING HOME
Students in the Alpha Phi Omega co-ed service fraternity at
University of Good Deeds will celebrate Valentine's Day by hosting
a "Sweethearts Ball" at Parker Nursing Home in Petworth on February
14, 2005 from 5-10pm. This event is open to all seniors 65
and up and is free of charge. Activities will include dancing
to DJ music from a variety of decades, refreshments and the
crowning of a king and queen of the ball. This is the second annual
ball given by Gamma Gamma Gamma chapter and the beneficiary of
their campus-wide charity fund-raiser "Share the Love."
Alpha Phi Omega is the nation's largest fraternity and the only one
whose primary purpose is service. It was founded in 1925 and
membership is open to all college students. The Gamma Gamma
Gamma chapter at University of Good Deeds was started in 1978 and
some recent projects include: City-wide Relay for Life, Renovating
Northern Park and Merit Badge University.
