Q: What is the suggested dress for the conference?

A:  In order for the NVC to have a professional feel, we suggest wearing business casual throughout the conference, except for Saturday night where we recommend business dress.

Q:  When is the deadline to register for the conference?

A:  Registration will be available sometime in the Spring 2011

Q:  Who do I contact if I have any questions:

A: You may contact the National Office by phone at: 816-373-8667 or you can send an email to: nvc@apo.org

Q:  When should I plan on arriving or departing?

A:  In order to take full advantage of the National Volunteer Conference, we recommend that you plan on arriving mid-afternoon Thursday.  If you region and/or section is meeting, we recommend departing at noon on Sunday.  If you are not meeting, you can depart any time after breakfast.  Please check with your Regional Director and/or Section Chair if you will be meeting on Sunday.

Q:  How is the registration fee able to include so much for so little money?

A: The National Office has been hard at work fundraising for special activities such as these.  Additionally, income from affinity programs such as our new relationship with GEICO is helping to subsidize the cost for the National Volunteer Conference. PS: No budgeted funds from active dues for this school year have been used to defer the cost of this conference.

Q: How many people are in each 'Triple' hotel room?

A: Three participants will be placed in each standard hotel room with 2 double beds.  You may pay for a double or single room - additional charges apply.

Q: What if there are 4 or more of us who want to share a room, will this reduce the registration fee?

A: Additional people will be allowed in each room, but it will not reduce your registration fee - you are still required to pay the triple rate registration fee.

Q: Can I have a hotel room with less than three people?

A: Yes. However, your registration fee will be substantially increased to offset the cost of subsidizing additional rooms.

  • Double room: Conference cost = $150
  • Single room: Conference cost = $250 (limited number available)

Q: Can I reduce my registration fee by only attending the conference portion and not having meals or staying overnight at the hotel?

A: No. The registration fee will remain $75.00. Since this is already a discounted rate, we can not lower the cost even if you opt out of meals or the hotel stay.

Q: When is the Deadline for Registration?

A: Conference attendance is limited to the first 200 volunteers to register.  Since so much of the participants' cost (food and hotel) is subsidized the limit on attendance is for financial purposes.  The registration deadline regardless of how many people are registered is July 6, 2011.
