Initiated with the Fall 1986 Dr. James William Dean Pledge Class into the Zeta Beta Chapter (Virginia Tech). In 1988, assisted with the chartering of Alpha Beta Psi Chapter (Roanoke College) and publication of the Zeta Beta 40th Anniversary Chapter History. From 1988-1989, served on the Zeta Beta Chapter Executive Committee as the Vice President of Membership. Life Member and Torchbearer since 1990, Blue & Gold Society member. Omicron Phi Chapter (University of Richmond) Scouting & Youth Service Advisor since the mid-1990s to present. 2005 Boy Scout National Jamboree Staff, Alpha Phi Omega Service Corps. 2006 National Convention Finance and Operations Reference Committee Advisor and 2008 National Convention National Organization Reference Committee Advisor. Past representative on the Region III Alumni Council (MD, DC, VA, NC) and Section 83 Staff Representative to Alpha Delta Iota Chapter (Virginia Commonwealth University) from 2006-2007. Member of the APO National Scouting & Youth Service Committee and Richmond Virginia Alumni Association. BSA 2010 National Scout Jamboree, Alpha Phi Omega Service Corps Co-Chair. Alpha Phi Omega Endowment Trustee since 2007 (current six-year term ending in 2013).

Awards and Honors

Zeta Beta Chapter M. Buford Blair Award of Merit for Outstanding Service Spring 1987, Zeta Beta Chapter Spring 1993 Pledge Class Namesake Honoree. Omicron Phi Chapter Distinguished Service Key (DSK) in 2003. Zeta Beta Chapter DSK as the Dr. James Dean Alumni Distinguished Service Award recipient in 2004. Made an Omicron Phi Chapter Honorary Brother in the Spring of 2007. At the 2008 National Convention in Boston received the Herbert G. Horton - Service to Youth Award, Region III Distinguished Service Key, and the Phyllis C. Tenney Excellence in Advising Award.
