Timetable

Below is a basic timeline to help guide your chapter towards success. This outline encourages brothers to be proactive. Each month, you can bring brothers together for a social event to acquire gifts and materials to make boxes. Remember, it's always a good time to promote the project on Facebook/Tweet with #APOServes90 and #JaredBoxProject


January 
  • Plan monthly shopping trip (TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS) 
  • Send media release to community and school media. 
  • Contact local hospital; speak with PR person to arrange visit Organize box assembly social event and POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA! 
February 
  • Send media release to community and school media. 
  • Plan monthly shopping trip (TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS) 
  • Organize box assembly social event and POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

March

  • Speak with hospital PR person to confirm date and time 
  • Send media release to community and school media. 
  • Plan monthly shopping trip (TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS) 
  • Organize box assembly social event and POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

April

  • On April 1, call local television stations to personally invite them to the event. 
  • Wednesday, April 13 -APO gives Jared Boxes April 15-17
  • Spring Youth Service Day and Global Youth Service Day 

***April 13 is the suggested date by Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity in efforts to make the greatest impact and attract media attention. It is your responsibility to ensure local television is aware and attending your distribution. If your chapter is not able to distribute on the April 13, we encourage you and your brothers to make it a top priority to distribute that week.

Be on the lookout on social media for David's event launch video. As your chapter creates Jared Boxes, be sure to interview brothers about their experience, take videos and photos. Share it all online and save it all for media to use for future stories. Be sure to follow The Jared Box Project on Facebook and Twitter (@JaredBoxProject ), use #JaredBoxProject and share your experiences.
