Job Description

JOB TITLE: Chapter Consultant
FOCUS: Extension- creating new chapters
REPORTS TO: Director of Educational Programs

JOB GOAL: To facilitate the creation of extension groups and to work, educate, and train extension group members on campuses where Alpha Phi Omega does not currently have an active chapter.  This Chapter Consultant will assist current extension groups in helping to propel them forward, will start new extension efforts on targeted campuses, and will see the effort through the chartering process.  

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability needed for the position.
1. Completion of a college degree.
2. Works as part of a team to solve problems in a positive and innovative way.  
3. Ability to manage projects in an independent work environment.  
4. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.  
6. Highly desired sales experience and/or recruitment experience.
7. Highly desired membership in Alpha Phi Omega, or another Greek fraternal organization.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes those listed, as well as other duties that may be assigned.  
1. Reach out to University administrators to arrange meetings, recruitment events, and educational sessions on campuses where we currently do not have an active chapter.  
2. Able to recruit students to form a prospective group for Alpha Phi Omega.  
3. Educate prospective members about Alpha Phi Omega.  
4. Educate and train group officers in duties to help propel the group forward.  
5. Guide students through all processes of beginning a new chapter. 
6. Work with and communicate with local volunteers through the process of beginning a new chapter.  
7. Oversee development and implementation of an aftercare program to be administered after a chapter charters or re-charters.  

Secondary Functions:
1. Assist in development of materials related to this position, and for conference, workshops, and other educational opportunities. 
2. Any other duties as assigned.  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, BONDING, AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED:
Completion of a college degree.
Valid driver's license.  
Vehicle with valid state registration requirement, useable for work purposes.  
Vehicle and driver insured with both liability and collision coverage of adequate amounts.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  
Physical requirements may include:
1. Ability to travel by plane.
2. Ability to drive up to eight hours by car.  
3. Travel up to 80% during the school year.  
4. Based out of the National Office in Independence, Missouri.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Employment will last from start date until May 31, 2015.  Days and hours to be arranged, with salary according to recommendation of the Executive Director.  

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated on a yearly basis.
