Newton, considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived, knew that he did not stand-alone in his accomplishments. He attributed much of his success to the great scientists before him.

Alpha Phi Omega would not be the thriving service organization it is today without standing on the shoulders of your leadership, vision and loyal support. As we celebrate the milestone of initiating APO's 400,000th member and set our sights 500,000, we know the current students are continuing to build on the great legacy left by alumni. Without the strong leadership and support from the brothers before them, the Fraternity experience wouldn't be what it is today.

One individual had a vision to build Alpha Phi Omega based on the Cardinal Principles - Leadership, Friendship and Service. With your leadership, these same principles still hold true today.  As donors, you continue to build on the legacy you left with your chapter, your university, your community by providing the Fraternity with the financial support needed to continue on to even greater things.

Torchbearer Fund
Contributions to the Torchbearer Fund are necessary for the daily operations of the Fraternity. Some of these include chapter support, member services, publications, leadership programs and general operating needs. National Service Week, which unites our members across the country through service and APO LEADS, which provides brothers with valuable leadership training are two examples of programs that are made possible and better through your support.

Endowment Fund
The Alpha Phi Omega Endowment provides long-term benefits for the goals and perpetuation of the Fraternity. This is accomplished by utilizing the income earned from investments for appropriate financial support, such as new programming, scholarships and grants. The Endowment is supported through membership in the Society of Life Members and planned or estate gifts, which ensures that APO's legacy will continue across college campuses throughout the nation long after our life's work is completed. Donors are asked to continue their Torchbearer Fund gifts in addition to providing contributions to the endowment.

Help build the future of Alpha Phi Omega by becoming a donor TODAY!

1925 Club http://www.apo.org/give/1925club "A hundred times everyday I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving." - Albert Einstein

Honoring the founding year of Alpha Phi Omega, the 1925 CLUB is a recognition program for students who support Alpha Phi Omega's Torchbearer Fund through a financial gift. It is a way for active brothers to further support the Fraternity's vision and mission, beyond their day-to-day contributions to their chapter, campus, community, and nation.

What does your gift to Alpha Phi Omega support?  Gifts to the Alpha Phi Omega Torchbearer Fund directly support member services, chapter support, publications, leadership programs, and operating needs. Specifically, your gift will assist the growth and development of the following programs and services:
  • National Service Week
  • APO LEADS Program
  • Expansion Activities
  • Fraternity Publications
  • Recruitment Materials
  • APO National Convention
Brothers making a gift of $19.25 or more will be recognized in the 1925 CLUB, receive a lapel pin, and be listed in the Tribute to Donors, a special publication honoring the Fraternity's donors. Chapters with 100 percent member participation in the 1925 CLUB will be recognized on a display at the National Office.

Torchbearer Fund http://www.apo.org/give/torchbearerfund "My contribution is the monetary reflection of the contribution APO made to my own life. As service to others is the legacy of APO, I made a yearly donation to ensure that legacy continues." Brother Abe Frishman, Alpha Rho '69

The Alpha Phi Omega Torchbearer Fund supports the day-to-day operating expenses of the Fraternity. It provides much-needed revenue for things such as chapter services, membership records and operating funds for the National Office. Chapters receive supplies and materials, program materials are developed and taught and the National Office ensures communication throughout the Fraternity.

Donors who make gifts of $75 or more to the Torchbearer Fund are recognized as Torchbearers. Torchbearer levels include:
  • Torchbearer: $75 - $149
  • Silver Torchbearer: $150 - $249
  • Gold Torchbearer: $250 - $499
  • Diamond Torchbearer: $500 - $999
  • Silver Founders Circle: $1,000 - $2,499
  • Gold Founders Circle: $2,500 - $4,999
  • Diamond Founders Circle: $5,000 and above
Torchbearers are listed in the Alpha Phi Omega Tribute to Donors, which is published each fall. In addition, Torchbearers will receive lapel pins, certificates and stickers at the various levels.

Sustaining Gifts
What is a sustaining gift? It is a gift paid out automatically over a period of time. In APO's case, it is a gift paid out either monthly or quarterly using your credit card to make the payment.

What are the benefits of making a sustaining gift? Once the process is set-up, you do not have to worry about sending in a gift card. For some, it helps with their personal finances to spread out payments over time.

How does it work? Just follow the "Give to the Torchbearer Fund" link and complete the requested information. You will receive a confirmation of your request and a report on your annual contribution history for your tax records.

Matching Gifts
Many donors are beginning to take advantage of corporate matching gift programs. Depending on the corporation, employers may match employee charitable contributions dollar-for-dollar or as a percentage of donations made. If donors to the Torchbearer Fund choose to participate in their employers' matching gift programs, those contributions are counted toward Torchbearer status. Many donors have been able to double their contributions to the Torchbearer Fund through corporate matching gift programs. Donors should check with their employer's human resources office to request the appropriate forms to begin this program.

Blue & Gold Society http://www.apo.org/give/blueandgoldsociety "Amy and I named Alpha Phi Omega as a beneficiary of my insurance policy because we wanted to give back to the organization that has given us so much. It was through APO that we made most of the meaningful friendships we have today and where I made contacts that led me to my present occupation. It's also the common interest that acted as a conduit for Amy and I to meet and fall in love. Becoming members of the Blue & Gold Society is but a kind gesture compared to the happiness, friendships and memories the Fraternity has and continues to provide us." Tom Westfall, Alpha Gamma '05, Amy (Pivovarnik) Westfall, Alpha Gamma '01.

The purpose of the Blue & Gold Society is to recognize the generous investment in the Alpha Phi Omega Endowment, Inc., made by members of the Fraternity. Their commitment in the future will provide a continuing source of income to enable the Fraternity to achieve its strategic goals in growth, programs and membership. These gifts from the assets of generous brothers will strengthen the Fraternity's mission of Leadership, Friendship and Service for decades to come. Our most sincere gratitude goes to these brothers who are committed to the future of the Fraternity.
